Extreme Science =
Verifiable Spirituality

An online Alternative Science Directory
(formerly SpiritScience.info)

There are those scientists who refuse to accept the division of science and spirit. Their work soon becomes colored with the knowledge that separation is a human constructed barrier, that there truly is no line between themselves and their studies. Their work begins to transform them.

the alchemist penetrates the barrier.

Shabari Bird and Christopher Bird
The basic energy(s) of life and how basic it is to our wellness. The Birds studied some of the unknown geniuses of science, such as Royal Raymond Rife, Nicola Tesla, and Wilhelm Reich as well as doing their own research. These are the folks who told the story of a researcher attaching a lie detector to a plant and measuring it's (dramatic) reaction to a cabbage being cut up. The plant even reacted strongly when the 'cabbage killer' came in the room later on.

Carlos Castaneda : A Separate Reality
About the only thing generally agreed about the works of Carlos Castaneda is that the man is an exceptional writer, well able to manage the incredible world he presents. Those willing to make the effort find that the proof is the experience.
Carlos Castaneda, as a young anthropologist, met Don Juan, a Mexican Indian shaman, while doing fieldwork for his doctorate at UCLA. Don Juan deftly turned the tables on Carlos by using everyday life and extraordinary experiences, along with psychedelic plants, to expose basic inconsistencies in Carlos' scientific worldview. Don Juan's teachings compelled the realization of a much larger reality than that taught by Science and a much larger place for humans in it.
Carlos: "Nothing is irrevocable in life. It's always possible to return what doesn't belong to us and recoup what is ours."
quote from: Magical Blend magazine #14
Don Juan: "A warrior must focus his attention on the link between himself and his death. Without remorse or sadness or worrying he must focus his attention on the fact that he does not have time and let his acts flow accordingly. He must let each of his acts be his last battle on earth. Only under those conditions will his acts have their rightful power. Otherwise they will be, for as long as he lives, the acts of a fool."
quote from: Journey to Ixtlan
Journey to Ixtlan is the best introduction, in the two earlier books Carlos had his anthropology hat on too tightly to understand much of what his Shaman teachers were doing, and the later books are too vast and mystical to use as a start point.
The Nagual.com web site has a lot of further reading but not much for the beginner www.nagual.com/
Late in his life Carlos revealed the "Magical Passes", movements taught in secret through the generations of his shamanic lineage. Most esoteric teachings have a core like this that is rarely spoken of. The movements are simple yet hold sublime power. There is a "Magical Passes" book and some videos, also a web site that now is archived, www.magical-passes.tk/ with some unpublished moves.

Alan Chadwick
Organic gardening has turned largely into just another agri-business marketing slogan. Alan Chadwick has the next step, based on the work of Rudolph Steiner and his own insights.
His garden at UC - Santa Cruz
"Chadwick restored what could be called the vital root of existence, a restoration and renewal of the integrity of organic nature. We were able to re-plant ourselves in nature by virtue of what he transmitted."
Quote from Website: www.ecotopia.org/ehof/chadwick/
Some Lectures
Dr Lyall Watson
Perhaps the best living scientist / writer. Lyall looks at Nature with clear eyes, humor and a gift for finding and telling powerful stories of this magical planet. It was he who first publicized the 'hundredth monkey' effect of critical mass.
"I make no apology, either, for a fascination with the soft edges of science. It is here, it seems, that we get fleeting glimpses of strange shadows just beneath the surface of current understanding. Such will-o-the-wisps, I suspect, may be our best chance of some sort of reconciliation between hard science and softer, more organic, human experience.
That is well worth pursuing..." quote from website
On creating life: "Naturally it is not enough just to have the right elements in the right proportions. Mud can do that. Something extra has to be added to breathe life into dust."

The Aquatic Ape Theory
Of all the monkeys only the human is not covered with hair (most of us, anyway). This, an unexplained gap in the fossil record, and other factors - such as our supposed intelligence, have led a few researchers to suspect that our ancestors 5 or 10 million years ago lived most of their lives in the water. A lot can be drawn from this idea, including a good chunk of human psychology.

Richard C. Hoagland
The Enterprise Mission, the Face on Mars.
Richard discovered an unusual geometry in the relationships between objects in the Cydonia region of Mars, the region known for the "Face on Mars". This Geometry led him to Hyperdimensional Physics, the interaction between other dimensions and the four (including time) that we can sense.
Hyperdimensional Physics in Hoagland's view is a modern rediscovery of an ancient Sacred Science and an explanation of such diverse questions as Astrology and why the Sun is hotter than conventional physics says it should be. Indeed it explains much of our reality.
A study of the timing and location of space program and other government activities has convinced him that parts of NASA and other persons in and out of government are fully aware of Hyperdimensional Physics and are using it to secretly control the evolution of the human race.
A lot to grasp in one bite, but Hoagland makes it fascinating.

Eugene Mallove
Infinite Energy Magazine - important source of beyond-the-box physics that can end oil dependence. Cold Fusion and Zero Point Energy (energy from "empty" space), although a bit difficult to duplicate, have been found in a number of processes. Currently the most promising seem to work with Reich's Orgone energy. This reminds one of the reports by mystics of the incredible energy of higher realms or dimensions.

Imaginary numbers
Is the square root of -1 ( "i" ) something that exists in the world or just a place-holder for math whizzes with no grasp on "reality"?
What is mathematics, anyway?
(What is "reality", anyway?)
Article: www.friesian.com/imagine.htm
Imaginary numbers have been found to describe real events, the formation of galaxies for example, showing that the "imaginary" world intersects the "real" one.
The mathematician Euler showed: e i π = -1.
( "π" ) is the well known "pi", the ratio between the circumference and the diameter of a circle, and ( "e" ) is the natural logarithm. All three terms are irrational numbers - numbers that slip between the ordinary, "rational" numbers, defying exact definition.
Since three points define a plane, this seems to point to another, non-rational, reality.
Does seem important.......
